2018 and what's up?

It's 2018 and I've been busy with arting. In the latter part of 2017, I challenged myself to work in my art journal every day. The plan was to do a journal page, in 10 minutes, every day. I found that I could not complete a page, at least one that I was happy with, in just 10 minutes and it was stressing the heck out of me to even try. So I compromised by working in my small journal as often as I felt the urge, preferably a couple of times a week and that has worked out pretty well. 

I've made a couple of challenges to myself for 2018. I don't do "New Years Resolutions" because I never keep them. So this year I challenged myself to 2 things. Major challenge is that the art supply purchasing department is closed. My challenge is to use what I have and not purchase any more stamps or art supplies until I've used up /purged/ re-homed the supplies I already have. So far, as of January 24th, I've been very good. I have only purchased supplies that I needed to replenish - ie gesso, glue. I'm pretty pleased with myself to say the least! I'm tracking all art purchases in my notebook, just for reference when selective amnesia strikes!! 

My minor challenge is that I challenged myself to make a tag a day - which is 31 tags - for the month of January. I discovered a new YT channel and this gal has challenged herself to make a tag a day for the every day of 2018. I think I can assure you that I will not be doing that !!  Her purpose for this was to make time to art every single day. We're all too busy right?   Her argument is that you can do a lot in 5 or 10 minutes once a day or several times a day - you really don't need big chunks of time to accomplish something.   That resonated with me so my challenge is to create a tag a day for January. I'm not finding it that difficult, and it's certainly encouraging me to art every day and use my supplies. The more I art it seems the more creative I feel. I'm really enjoying doing more creating.
