Wow! Weather here on the coast is really hot. We've averaged somewhere between 28 and 32 degrees celsius over the last couple of days. Summer seems to have finally returned. Not to say that the weather hasn't been nice, because for the most part it has been, but it's been muggy - which is unusual for us - and overcast for most of many days. My flowers have perked up with the hot weather and I'm being very mindful of the need to water as often as possible, preferably daily!
We 're looking forward to taking a couple of weeks off next month and heading off to Palm Springs for 18 days. I know it's going to be dreadfully hot there - my kind of weather! And of course the house we're renting has a lovely pool and is air conditioned so what's not to like?
A friend and I went to Anacortes WA for the Arts Festival the weekend of August 5th. I'll tell you they put on quite a festival. In fact there was so much of it to see, which we did not complete, that sometimes it was a little overwhelming! Lots of pottery, jewellry, painting, glasswork and more. It was beautiful weather so we had a great time. If you're ever in Anacortes, I strongly recommend having lunch at the Majestic Inn and Spa. The food was very reasonable priced, lovely atmosphere and the crab cakes were to die for! My friend had the Caesar salad and clam chowder and she raved about both of them.
We stayed at the Angel of the Winds casina and I would give it a 5 star rating. Lovely rooms, spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly. Food was great. Casino? Well it wasn't good to me but my friend did OK so that's just me being my normal unlucky self. I might just as well hand over all my money as soon as I walk into the casino because I never win. Wah, wah, wah!!
