Heavenly Palm Springs and art

We arrived safely in Palm Springs and we've been thoroughly enjoying our home away from home:)
The weather has not been great - in the mid to high 60's which is about 10 degrees cooler than it usually is when we're here in February.  I think the bad weather they've been having further north in California has impacted the weather down here.  However, I have not been deterred from using the pool and hot tub most days so it's all good.

I purchased a small sketchbook at Michael's and, since I'm being really lazy, have started sketching faces while I lie in bed and watch YouTube or tv. They say you need to practice, practice, practice and I have done that every night for the last several days.  I've challenged myself to sketch at least one face every night until we fly back to Vancouver  and so far I've been able to do that.  I'm certainly no great artist - I've always struggled  with face shape proportions and drawing eyes.  I think I may have improved on those skills a little so that's nice to see.  I don't feel like I'm totally wasting my time and I think I'm starting to see my style emerge - maybe a little whimsical?  Certainly not realistic!
I guess it's all just part of the learning curve.

I don't have my laptop with me so I'm working from my iPad.  I've taken pics of my sketches with my iPad but I don't know how to upload them from the iPad onto my blog so may have to wait til I get home in a couple of weeks to post the pics.
